One of the founders of the Armenian Wine Renaissance, Armen Khaltayan was the first to see the potential of making modern table wines using native Armenian grapes. In 1998 he founded Old Bridge, the oldest boutique winery in Armenia. Armen is a perfect ionist who maintains the highest standards for Old Bridge wine. In 2010 he stopped making a regular Areni bottling and the Estate now sells off wine and grapes that are not up to his standards for the Old Bridge Reserve, which remains a benchmark for Armenian red wine.
