The Tushpa label is a tribute to the history of the Manasserian family who, a century ago, made wine in the village of Tushpa near Lake Van in Western Armenia. Today the family owns vineyards in the Ararat Valley near the Khor Virap Monastery and started the Tushpa label in 2018. Father Mihran makes the red wine; son Abraham makes the white wine and siblings Karlen and Ani manage the operation. Tushpa’s vineyards are in the scenic Ararat Valley. The ground is typically very fertile and the Tushpa makes concerted efforts to control the yields of its Haghtanak and Kangun grapes to maximize the flavors of these two varieties.
