Situated in the heart of Salento, just south of Apulia, Vigneti Reale occupies 250-hectares of rich land, with an age-old wine-making history. The Reale family has owned the property for over one-hundred years, and has been producing wine since 1921. The house produces a wide range of fine wines from the deep south of Italy. Here on the “heel” of the Italian peninsula, this area is known for its rich, fruity and well-bodied wines. The estate’s Mediterranean climate is met with a liberally flat and calcareous soil, the vineyards benefit from steady breezes, short winters, and long dry summers. Today, the estate produces seven pure-grape wines: Primitivo-Zinfandel, Negromaro, Chardonnay, White Malvasia, Black Malvasia and Malvasia Rosè – labeled under IGT or IGP standards. As well as a grand cru, Santa Croce – Salice Salentino Riserca DOC/DOP – a blend of Negroamaro and Black Malvasia grapes. Vigneti Reale is committed to making the best of the best, vintage after vintage, they remain one of the most esteemed wineries in the Apulian region.
